Hackathon (CTF)

This event is only for Dutch and international applied and theoretical university (HBO and WO) students, who are enrolled at a Dutch educational institution. We have space for 32 (applied) university students.

The Capture The Flag (CTF) competition is a cybersecurity competition where participants solve challenges to find hidden flags. The challenges are based on real-world scenarios and are designed to test the participants' knowledge and skills in various cybersecurity domains. The competition is open to all skill levels, but the challenges will lean more towards beginner and intermediate levels. The competition will be held on-site and will last for 3,5 hours. There will be prizes for the winners. University students who are doing a HBO- or WO study can apply for the CTF.

Students who sign up for the CTF, will have the opportunity to participate in one of the 2-hour workshops that will be held in the morning. They can choose between the following workshops: Introduction to Hardware Hacking, Introduction to Cryptography, and Introduction to Z3 solving. The workshops are designed for beginners and are on-site.

Complete beginners have the opportunity to join the Introduction to Web Security workshop, in which case they will join the High School students in the morning session.

Due to a lack of interest, High School participants will also participate in the Hackthon!

Treasure Hunt

This event is only for Dutch high school students, who are enrolled at a Dutch high school in Nijmegen. We have space for 20 high school students.

For high school students (HAVO5 and VWO5+6), there is a Treasure Hunt with (crypto) puzzles that will take place on the campus of Radboud University. The Treasure Hunt will last for 3,5 hours and will take place in parallel to the CTF competition in the afternoon. The Treasure Hunt will consist of various puzzles provided by Danique Lummen from Challenge The Cyber. There will be prizes for the winners.

High school students who sign up for the Treasure Hunt, will have the opportunity to participate in the Introduction to Web Security or the Introduction into Cryptography workshop in the morning. The workshops are designed for beginners and are on-site. If however you are a high school student with more experience in CTFs, and would like to join the university students in the Z3 or hardware hacking workshop, please contact us.

Because the workshops will be given in English, only high school student who are in HAVO5 and or VWO5+6 can sign up. A Dutch speaking woman will also be present at the Web Security workshop to translate anything that may be unclear.
